Senior Software Engineer (Node.js)

ABOUT THE ROLE 

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer for backend development aimed at enhancing logistics software, which optimizes deliveries per hour for the couriers. In this role, you will focus on building and maintaining a platform tailored for the courier operations team. You will work extensively with geospatial data, real-time location tracking, and delivery-related metrics to ensure continuous improvement in efficiency and delivery times. Working Hours are New York time. 

PROJECT TECH STACK 

Primary Technologies: Node.js, RabbitMQ, WebSockets, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Python. 

Additional Tools/Frameworks: React Native, Terraform, Jenkins. 

• Design, develop, and maintain logistics software that efficiently routes couriers through complex urban and suburban areas. 
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize core platform delivery metrics, focusing on increasing deliveries per hour and reducing delivery times. 
• Enhance and implement features related to job offers, geospatial data, real-time location tracking, and courier performance. 
• Partner with backend engineers to build a scalable and reliable platform that supports smooth and efficient operations. 
• Continuously improve system architecture and code to boost performance and accommodate future growth. 

• Proven experience in 5+ year backend development with a strong focus on Node.js. 
• Solid experience with databases such as MongoDB and PostgreSQL, ensuring performance and scalability. 
• In-depth understanding of geospatial data processing and real-time tracking systems. 
• Familiarity with DevOps tools like Terraform and CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins to streamline deployment and operations. 
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, solving complex logistical challenges with effective solutions. 
• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on optimizing critical metrics, such as deliveries per hour, to improve efficiency. 
• English conversational level (B2 and higher).

• Background in logistics, delivery routing, or related fields, with an understanding of industry-specific challenges. 
• Expertise in working with message brokers like RabbitMQ and WebSockets to support real-time communication systems.
