Senior DevOps

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to help shape and implement a cutting-edge tech platform that drives productivity and operational excellence for our application engineers. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and building tooling and automation solutions that support all aspects of our NYC-based startup in the food delivery service industry. Your work will directly impact the scalability and efficiency of our platform, empowering our teams to deliver exceptional service. The business aims to provide access to the world’s most delicious food anytime and anywhere, making world-class food accessible within NYC. Working Hours are New York time, from 3 pm to 11 pm Kyiv time. 

• Collaborate closely with product and engineering managers to design and build a product that drives significant business impact.

• Design, develop and maintain the platform and infrastructure to support distributed systems comprised of both synchronous and asynchronous services, and databases.

• Influence on the team by providing good examples and leading discussions on topics like: system design, operations, implementation, code quality verification, and deployment.

• Ensure operational excellence throughout your team’s development lifecycle.

• Implement comprehensive integration and unit test coverage to ensure confidence in shipping changes.

• Advocate for and implement best practices in CI/CD, optimizing how application teams interact with the platform.

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a track record of delivering high-quality, scalable systems.

• Proven ability to make informed technical decisions through collaboration with peers and cross-functional teams.

• Experience in owning and improving large-scale deployments or services, ensuring continuous optimization.

• Expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining platforms that support distributed systems, including both synchronous and asynchronous services.

• Proficiency in relational and document databases. We are utilizing MySQL, MS SQL, Postgres, Cosmos DB and Mongo DB.

• Solid understanding of public cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS, GCP), and experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to mentor junior engineers and foster team collaboration.

• English conversational level (B2 and higher).
